Enriching Body, Mind & Spirit
On Thursday April 7th, the Boys and Girls Club hosted the 6th annual Enriching Body, Mind & Spirit Conference: Workshops for Young Women. Over 80 young women from Kamloops Secondary Schools and surrounding community participated in this fun and exciting day! Workshops were facilitated by individuals from numerous community agencies. The workshops addressed relevant issues for young women including substance abuse, self- image, nutrition, sexual identity and healthy relationships.
The rest of the day included lunchtime entertainment from local artist Jessica Williams, a photo booth and door prizes from local businesses. The energy in the building was awesome and there was great feedback from the young women who participated.
A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers, presenters and donors who contributed to this day. It could not have been done without your generous donations of time, expertise and prizes.
