JuMp StArT!

1 in 3 Canadian families can't afford to enrol their kids in organized sports.  Let's encourage our customers to join us on Saturday, May 28th to help celebrate Jumpstart Day.

On this day, Canadian Tire will donate $1.00 on behalf of all customers that shop at the store to help kids in financial need participate in sports and recreation.  To date, Canadian Tire Jumpstart has helped give more than 315,000 kids in Canada the chance to play.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart is a community-based charitable program that helps kids aged 4 - 18 in financial need participate in organized sport and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming, so they can develop important life skills, self esteem and confidence.

On Saturday, May 28th, Canadian Tire and Dealers will help our Chapter members fundraise by holding events such as car washes and barbecues!  These efforts will give kids a sporting chance!

A Day of Digging

On Thursday April 21st, in honour of 'Earth Day', British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) Green Team in Kamloops joined Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops staff in our McArthur Island 'Adventure Garden'. Volunteers spent the day in rain, hail, wind and sun building drift wood trellis', constructing a 'door way' arbor to the Adventure side of our garden project and preparing the garden beds for planting. The garden project is aimed to encourage greener communities and connecting people back to the food we eat and the land we live on. The Adventure side of the Garden is themed the four elements; earth, wind, fire and water. This day was the start of the project which will develop over the coming months to include interactive components for all ages. The Boys and Girls Club would like to thank the BCLC group for spending the day digging, preparing and building. It's amazing what a small group of people can accomplish in a day with positive energy a little skill and many laughs.  Without the support and energy of groups like BCLC and other Club partners we wouldn't be able to create initiatives and programs that support the development of our community; you are all true champions!
