The Winter Season is upon us

With the chill in the air out comes Winter! Winter is a time at the club with lots of great energy and activites to engage in. This Sunday BGC staff will be volunteering with the Thompson Nicola Cariboo United Way's Homes for the Holidays event. Homes for the Holidays is happening on Saturday and Sunday November 20 and 21st. Also, the Boys and Girls Club will again be joining in the festivities at the Santa Parade starting at 11:00 am on Saturday November 27. For more information please visit:

Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops: Holiday Happenings

Volunteer Opportunities:

(Please note for all opportunities we require a volunteer interview process including a criminal record check. If interested please contact us with ample time to move through this process. Volunteer applications can be filled out by visiting our website: www.bgckamloops.com and find the application under “Ways to Give”)

1.        December 19th: Face painting at Christmas party event. 11:00 am -3: 00 pm. (Can be 2-4 hour shifts)
2.      Nights Alive. Volunteers needed for youth-driven social program: Nights Alive that occurs every Friday night from 8:30 pm to midnight for ages 13-18. This is a no cost program to provide a safe, drug, alcohol and harassment free environment for youth. Our youth drop in programs are especially important during the Winter months here in Kamloops and help is always welcome!
           

Donation Opportunities:

1.        Mittens, gloves, touques, scarves, winter jackets, snow pants, boots or Winter clothing for children and youth who are in need.
2.      Hampers for a family. Please contact us regarding this option as we can align donors with the needs of a particular family.
3.      Non perishable food items or Grocery Store Gift Certificates to add to the making of a hamper.
4.     Toys or gifts for children or youth.
5.      Sears “Tree of Wishes”. Visit Sears at Aberdeen Mall to see the “Tree of Wishes” and choose a gift to purchase for a specific child at the Boys and Girls Club of Kamloops (all $25.00 or less).
